Different researchers in the literature have discussed the relationship between Olympic Games and gross domestic product (GDP). This paper analyzes the experiences of 17 past host countries of Olympic Games between 1967 to 2015, and the economic outcomes on their GDP per capita. The data was obtained from the World Bank Open Data for the following 17 countries: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Spain, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Russia, South Korea, United Kingdom, the United States.
